sounds.
Vowels and Tones
- High Tone (´): E.g.,
í. Pronounced with a higher pitch.
- Low/Falling Tone (`): E.g.,
à. Pronounced with a lower or
falling pitch.
- Nasal Vowels (~): E.g.,
ã. Pronounced through the nose.
Consonants
- Glottal Stop ('): E.g.,
Bua'. A brief pause or catch in the
throat, similar to the middle of "uh-oh".
- Sh / Ts: Common blends that are pronounced sharply.
Tip: Many words change their meaning based solely on their tone!
